Hi Alex, I'm not sure what you mean by "real" clownfish, because the False clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is truly a clownfish. It is closely related to the Orange clownfish (Amphiprion percula). As you can see, common names aren't very useful, since the "Flase clownfish" is also orange! Common names are only useful because they are easy to communicate but they don't tell us much about the species and can sometimes be contradictory. For example, there are several species that have the prefix "Common" in their common names, but they are in fact, rare. Like the Common kingfisher, which is in reality, not so common in Singapore. Confused? You should be :)
